Semester 2 Proposal
For my final piece i want to make a short film about the pace of life. i believe this piece would be relevant to all age groups. the aim of the piece is to look ask the viewer to reflect on the speed of their life's, are opportunities passing them by, have they made the most of things? how far back can they remember? do our distant memories betray the truth as time moves on?
Time seams to pass in a blur most of the time with only a few single images standing out more clearly than others. That is what i want to capture. Video is definitely the right choice for this piece as we need to see time as moving at various speeds.
The action will take place at first in the "real world" and then move into the realms of fantasy. this is because our memories are exaggerations of what really happened. No two people will remember an incident exactly the same way as each other.
As the piece is a journey into time and memory i would like to show it as a 6ft projection. i will be using miniatures as life size creations to create the fantasy world , but i want the viewer to feel as though they have "walked through" the time not just viewed it.
I will also use sound to communicate the pace as well as visuals.

Book of the film
I was experimenting with a small studio Lighting set up for another project and thought a book to accompany my film about growing old (or not) would be interesting.
I thought that the objects used could appear in a Year Book arrangement, may be arranged by date, class of 1977, 1984, 1987 etc... maybe include there names like a cast list.
